Colt London 4 & 5
JGD District Heating has supported the development of the London 4 & 5 hyperscale data centre facilities at the Hayes campus. Working directly with the data centre operator and the appointed consultant and construction team, JGD was able to apply specialist heat network expertise within the rapidly expanding data centre and AI infrastructure sector.
The first facility provides approximately 31 MW of capacity, with the second designed to provide 31.5 MW across five 1,000 m² data halls. An important element of the development is its capability to make waste heat available for local community heating, creating a direct connection between large-scale digital infrastructure and the development of lower carbon heat networks.
JGD utilised Series 2 single pre-insulated pipework with fusion-welded BandJoint systems, with all welding undertaken to a Class 1 procedure and subject to 100% NDT testing.
