LOGSTOR offers a wide selection of flexible pipes to choose from, each possessing inherent characteristics that assist in determining which is the most suitable for each type of project.
- SteelFlex
- PexFlextra
- AluFlextra
- CuFlex
Diffusion tightness:
Each category of LOGSTOR flex pipe is "diffusion-tight," referring to keeping the insulation gasses (cyclopentane and CO2) in the PUR foam over life time and avoid replacement with atmospheric air (oxygen and nitrogen) and thereby maintain the same heatloss property over lifetime. SteelFlex and CuFlex are manufactured with and aluminium diffusion barrier between PURfoam and casing and PexFlextra and AluFlextra are manufactured with an EVOH barrier coextruded into the casing.
Form Stability:
SteelFlex, AluFlextra and CuFlex are form stable, which means that once they have been shaped to fit their installation trench, they will retain their shape for the duration. PexFlextra, however, allows for self-compensation with respect to ground expansion and contraction.
Single or Twin Pipe Availability:
AluFlextra, PexFlextra, and CuFlex are all available as both single or TwinPipe, while SteelFlex is only available as a single pipe.
Pressures and Temperatures (varied by product):
- SteelFlex: capable of handling pressures up to 25 bar, with a continuous operating temperature of 120°C
- PexFlextra: capable of handling pressures up to 6 bar, with a continuous operating temperature of 80-95°C
- AluFlextra: capable of handling pressures up to 10 bar, with a continuous operating temperature of 80-95°C
- CuFlex: capable of handling pressures up to 16 bar, with a continuous operating temperature of 120°C
AluFlextra and PexFletxra is fully compliant to EN15632-2. SteelFlex and CuFlex is fully compliant with EN 15632-4. The flexible system performs exceptionally well in the following applications:
- Branch pipes without joints
- Passage of vegetation and other obstacles
- Hilly areas
- Tunnelling and thrust-bore methods
- Low-temperature hot water
- Medium-temperature hot water
