The challenge

Integrating heat infrastructure into a major energy programme.

The scheme replaces a 53-year-old energy-from-waste facility with a new Energy Recovery Facility, Resource Recovery Facility and public Reuse and Recycling Centre.

The future facility is designed to process up to 700,000 tonnes of waste each year. Alongside resource recovery, it will provide electricity to the national grid and heat to a local district heating network.

JGD’s solution

JGD coordinated closely with ACCIONA’s civil and structural teams to manage the installation sequence and maintain progress in a high-demand environment. The work included large-diameter pre-insulated LOGSTOR pipework and the specialist interfaces required to integrate it into the wider development.

By combining installation expertise with active coordination, JGD helped create an efficient, future-focused heating network that will support local communities and wider infrastructure for years to come.
