Norwich Research Park
JGD District Heating was awarded the contract to deliver a new heat network serving continuing development of one of the leading research campuses in the UK.
The campus brings together researchers and organisations working across areas like sustainable food, bioscience, and healthcare. Substantial ongoing investment in infrastructure is designed to support long-term growth and research capabilities.
JGD’s appointment came after approximately eight months of pre-construction and design work. During this phase, JGD worked with the project team to identify and resolve potential installation issues before the contract award, thereby reducing delivery risks before the on-site work began.
The network is being installed using Series 2 single pre-insulated pipework with fusion-welded BandJoint systems. Welding is undertaken to a Class 1 procedure, and 100% NDT testing provides a rigorous level of quality assurance.
